Welcome!!

I have been teaching math here at Batesburg-Leesville for the past 9 years. I am originally from the Sumter area where I attended Furman High School until June 1991.  I currently live in Saluda county with my wife Stacey and son Connor.

I love to help our students learn math and to coach them on the athletic field. I currently teach Algebra 1 part A and B and Calculus AP/H. I am an assistant coach for football in the fall, and I am the head coach for boys' tennis in the spring. I truly believe that all kids can learn and do well with proper effort, attitude, motivation and guidance. All of our schools here in Lexington district three are filled with very talented students. These kids are the future of our community so we must teach them to be productive citizens and leaders.

I will send progress reports home, as well as, all tests for parent/guardian signatures. I hope this will help to keep an open line of communication so we can ensure the students have support and encouragement. Any student who is in need of extra assistance may ask questions in class and see me during academic assistance times from 8:00-8:30.

I look forward to teaching your child this school year. I can be contacted anytime via email at: jgetson@lex3.k12.sc.us or by calling the school: 803-532-9251 ext 7135
